A new experience

The boys each got a set of kid skates for Christmas. Tucker has been asking to go ice skating for a while now, but it is not the best idea for me to go ice skating yet and Vinny is not really up for taking the big boys without me...(so hopefully we are going to CO over summer and we will take them then and my mom can watch Ty for us), so I figured the next best thing to do is get them some skates. Trey tried his on first and was just walking around on the carpet, but then I took him to the kitchen on the hard floor and told him to stand there because it will be harder to stay on his feet and I wanted to take his picture before I helped him on the hard floor, but he thought he didn't need my help...and this happened....

As Trey would say "whoopsy doodle" instead of whoopsy daisy...he fell HARD...it was bad..but funny because as I was telling him to stop moving so he doesn't fall and so I could take the picture and he just fell...poor guy...they definitely need some more practice.

Christmas Dinner

This year for Christmas dinner I made ham, corn on the cob, hashbrown casserole(my Aunt Jean's recipe), dinner rolls, and jello(which is considered a "salad" not a dessert and is pretty much always served at most major dinners). It was pretty tasty dinner and nice to spend Christmas with Vinny's parents.

Ty's 1st Christmas

It was a little different having such a young baby at Christmas time. Tucker was almost a year and Trey was 6 months, so they both were sort of into to the Christmas festivities. Ty just hung out and slept most of the time..Tucker and Trey opened all of Ty's presents for him..it was still a lot of fun and Ty looked super cute in his festive Christmas outfit..(thanks mom!)

Christmas Cookies

Every year I make Christmas cookies(using my Grandma's recipe), just like my mom did and her mom did too. Then we have fun decorating them. The boys did a great job this year and man I love these cookies.

Ty 6 weeks old

Ty is 6 weeks old already! Last week he started smiling when we talk to him! It is so cute and I cannot wait to hear him laugh for the first time. He is still sleeping very good at night..he usually falls asleep around 9:30 and sleeps until 4:30 or 5am! So that is pretty amazing for me...too bad I usually can't fall asleep until 11pm and I have tried keeping Ty up longer, which doesn't work and then I have tried waking Ty up at 11 when I go to sleep, but I can mess with him and change his diaper and everything and he still stays asleep. The boys are still loving on him and he is growing so fast!

Last Minute Shopping

We were at the mall the day before Christmas Eve doing a little last minute shopping Christmas shopping and decided to let the boys try something new...They have been wanting to try and climb the wall for a long time now, so we thought why not! Tucker had no hesitation about climbing up there and climbed up there really fast, using the hand and foot things. Trey really wanted to climb it, but was a little bit hesitant at first, but then didn't have a problem once on the wall. He didn't quite get the use of the hand and foot things at first, but once we told him to use those to climb, he did a great job and got all the way to the top!

One of our friends made a gingerbread house and the boys thought it was the coolest thing, so we decided to make one our own. So we got the kit from Target and had a ton of fun making our own...I think this will have to be one of our new Christmas tradition :D

Busy, Busy,BUSY!!!

I haven't been posting as much as usual, but we have been busy getting ready for Christmas! You know all the fun stuff: decorating, shopping, wrapping, Christmas cards, and baking! My mom always made (and still does make) a ton of delicious goodies every year at Christmas and I have carried on that tradition..using all of her recipes. This year I am going to try to make 10 different sweets: Dark chocolate fudge, chocolate covered cherries, peppermint bark, chex mix, a sweeter fudge, carmel corn, kiss cookies, peanut butter cup cookies, Christmas wreaths, and sugar cookies...so far I have made the first 4. Hopefully I will get the rest done in the next few days...I better because I am quickly running out of time. I will try and be better about keeping things up to date..but now it is time for me to go to bed!

Early Christmas Presents

We (as in Vinny and I) got an early Christmas present from the boys. The boys made them at school and they couldn't wait for us to open them..well we didn't even get to open them, the boys opened the presents themselves. We love the gift and it is something we will treasure forever!

Living Nativity

Last weekend at the boy's preschool, they had a Living Nativity. It was a lot of fun. The older kids from Sunday School, play Mary and Joseph and all the preschool kids (minus my two shy boys) were dressed up as Angels or Shepperd's. Tucker and Trey decided that they just did not want to dress up and wanted to stay with me instead. I have to admit I was a little bit sad they didn't want to participate, but they can get very shy at times...and I have no idea where they get this shyness from.....wait who and I kidding...I have always been shy, I am getting a little better now, but they definitely get it from me... But we enjoyed watching the little program, it was a great way to get into the real Christmas Spirit. After the program of Jesus' birth, they had a lot of fun activities for the kids. I put Ty in the front pack and he slept the entire time we were there! It was a nice way to spend a Saturday!

Ty 1 month old!

****Oh and by the way...I weighed Ty and accoring to the Wii Fit, he is 10 and a half pounds...I'm not sure how accurate it is, but he had definitely put on some weight****

Ty is 1 month old today!!! I can't believe how fast this past month has gone! He is still a really good baby. He is sleeping usually about 4 or 5 hours stretches at night, but during the day he is starting to stay awake for a little longer at a time. Tucker and Trey are still loving being the big brothers and are really helpful! Tucker's favorite thing to help with is feeding Ty a bottle (which he doesn't get to do very often because I am still nursing) and patting Ty's back to burp him. Trey's favorite thing to help with is putting Ty's pacifier (which he calls "the Pass"). Ty is still eating a lot, but still spitting up...but he is definitely gaining weight so the doctor said it's not a big issue and he gets hiccups quite a bit. He also loves his paci...but doesn't "have" to have it all the time. His eyes still are what I call "the undefined baby color" some days they look blue, green, or brown..so we will see what color they turn eventually. His skin is still peeling, just a little bit mostly on his hands and feet. Then his hair is still the newborn greasy hair, but just recently after it dries from bath time, it is starting to poof out! I still can only see one dimple on his right cheek, so maybe he will only have one.

Things were so hectic while my parents were here, I never got to post about Ty's 2 week check up. The doctor only had good things to say and he was already weighing 8lbs 5.5ozs!

Picnic at the park

We really wanted to do something we don't usually go do while my parents were here, but getting 5 adults, 2 kids, and a newborn out of the house in a timely manner really isn't the easiest thing to accomplish, then Vinny was called to go to work, so we just decided to go to the boys favorite park. So we got some chicken and headed off to the park. It was a lot of fun and the weather was really nice! My mom made a funny comment...she said "why haven't I been to this park before?" and I replied, "because you always come in the summer and it is way too hot to go places like this in the summer."

Vinny and my dad had to run a couple of errands one morning, so my mom, Josh, the boys, and I decided to walk to our neighborhood park and let the big boys play. Of course they had fun and put Josh my mom to work pushing them on the swings. I decided to try out the front pack with Ty. He seemed to like it, he slept the entire time in it. I thought it was pretty simple to put on and use..if you don't know some of those things are actually pretty complicated. We didn't get to stay too long because it started to sprinkle, but it was still fun!


Tucker is getting so big...he can do the fire pole all by himself!
