New Bedding

I have been looking for new bedding for Tucker and Trey since..well since we moved them into their bunk beds a couple of years ago. I was being kind of picky about it, not wanting something to "theemey" or characters because they change what they "love" pretty often I didn't want them asking for new bedding every time their opinions change. So I finally found it at Walmart of all places! It's perfect! Outdoorsy..a little bit of camo and just a little bit of blue to tie in their blue walls.

I just took pictures of the packaging because it was easier than trying to get a good shot of it on their beds because of the way their bunk beds are in their room.

Going down!

I posted before about having to move Ty's crib mattress down and I finally got around to getting a picture of it. We also took the bumper out too because they say your supposed to do that now. It makes me sad because he looks like such a big boy now! Here he is standing up pointing to the dog..he loves all of our animals!

8 months old!

It feels like I just posted Ty's 7 month update and now I'm onto the 8 month one. Ty really has made some major milestones these past few weeks. He is officially crawling...on his hands and knees...going everywhere!!! It is funny because he actually learned how to push himself up to sitting on his little butt before he got the actual crawling down (he was doing some weird thing..he would be sitting up lean forward and kind of drag his bottom half..with his legs tucked underneath his belly and get around that way or he would just scoot himself around backwards). It is so cute watching him crawl. He is determined..if he sees something across the room, he will crawl all the way over to get it!


I posted last time he is quite the little chatter box and he is just getting more and more vocal! He is still doing the mamama sound and is even saying mama to me or when he sees me. He is also doing the dada sound and has said that to Vinny. He is still doing the bababa sound and he has started with the papapa sound..when we were visiting Vinny's dad, Ty focused on him and said, papa, so I'm thinking we might have to call him papa from now on. The newest sound his is making it the 'h' sound (whenever I am doing stuff around the house and he is in whatever chair or crib that will keep him out of trouble, I always wave to him and say hi.) And he is even putting up his little hand mimicking us waving at him..he also did that to Vinny's dad for the first time too. So now when we walk around the house anytime we enter a new room he waves his little hand and makes that 'h' sound!!! It is so cute..I just LOVE it!!! Ty waving hi to me!


Ty has always loved to eat and that is has not changed. He is now eating 3 solid meals a day. He really loves to feed himself, so we have been finding more finger foods for him to eat. The little Gerber dices, carrots and pears. Sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. Cut up bananas and those Gerber Biter Biscuits (I gave him one of those thinking it would take him awhile to eat it and he devoured it in a matter of minutes). He is also eating those rice Mum Mums. Of course he is still eating Cheerios and all those gerber snacks. He still loves his sippy cup even though he is still only getting water. Eating a banana for the first time!


Ty really loves bath time..the little tub he usually uses in the big tub has this piece you can take out so he can sit up instead of laying back..so we took that out and now he sits there and splashes the entire time!

FINALLY done with Ty's room!

I'm proud to announce that I am finally done with Ty's room....it only took me about a year (I started working on things last summer). It's not exactly want I had envisioned,but oh well, I love it anyways. Thanks again to my parents for the bedding...it is perfect and what I based the entire room on! You two are too good to your grandkids :D There is still one more thing I am looking for, but I haven't been able to find...thinner cursive wooden (well it doesn't have to be wood, just something I can paint brown to match the bedding) letters spelling out baby..so if you ever come across some...please let me know! My dad made the little name thing..he has made one for all the boys..he's tallented!


My dad also made this changing table for us when Tucker was born. It doesn't match the rest of the wood (It matched Tucker's crib) and I didn't have the heart to change the stain on it..I love it too much the way it is. I'm sure you noticed the shoes...I have a small problem...and those are just the size 2s and the smaller size 3s..I have a bunch more..I love shoes!

Prayers needed please.

Last Friday we found out Vinny's dad was in the hospital and after running some tests they determined he has leukemia (adult lymphatic leukemia aka ALL). He is still in the hospital and they are doing everything they can to fight this. Please pray for him and the rest of our family in this difficult time.

4th of July!

We had a family fun filled 4th of July! We decided to stay home, swim in our pool, bbq some very yummy food, and light off some fireworks! Holidays are always a little bittersweet for me here because back in CO we ALWAYS celebrate holidays with our families and friends...usually with a big bbq or something special...but Vinny and I have learned how to just focus on the positive and make it special even when we are alone..because even though we don't have any family here, we have our cute little family and we want to make it special for our boys!
Anyways, Tucker is OBSESSED with fireworks...he loves them. Vinny decided he was only going to buy a few and they would be satisfied with those, but after all those were used up, he and Tucker ran back out to one of the stands and got a few more! (I had a feeling that was going to happened..but oh well..it was fun) Trey is not a big fan of fireworks, mostly because they are loud and he has sensitive little ears! Which is why he has cotton balls stuck in his ears...he said they didn't help, so he spent most of the night inside. Finally when Vinny was lighting off the last few I convinced him to come outside with me and he watched the rest..with his hands over his ears! Ty fell asleep before we started the fireworks and slept straight through!

Time to move it down

I was cleaning up Ty's room and I put him in the crib to keep him out of all the stuff I had out (even though he isn't crawling he sure can get around and get into everything). I had a few toys for him to play with, but he wasn't interested in them, he just wanted to stand up! He did this one other time about a week ago, but I didn't get to take a picture. He was so proud of himself for doing it and was having a good time standing up! Now it is time to lower the mattress!

Space Center!

Vinny was supposed to be out on a job, but because of Alex(the tropical storm/hurricane that made it's way into the Gulf) he is off for a little bit. So we decided to take advantage of the time and went down to the Space Center. We haven't been in about a year and they have an exhibit or to they change out and right now is Star Wars, the Clone Wars..which the boys are very much into right now. It is a little bit pricey, but they have year long membership for a year that (as long as we go a couple of times this next year) is a good deal. Seeing how we are going to get good use out of this membership we only walked around a little and let the boys play in this awesome playground the majority of the time (usually we do the opposite). They definitely had a blast playing and exploring.

We got a late start on the day and when we were ready to leave it was almost rush hour, so instead of heading for home and fighting traffic, we went the other way and headed to Galveston for some dinner. We ate at this pretty nice restaurant right on the sea wall and the food was good and the dessert was AMAZING. It was probably the best cake I've ever had..some sort of white cake with mascarpone cheese and raspberry...it seriously was delicious. After that I really wanted to walk along the beach, but because of the storm it was super windy and the tide was pretty high. Instead we finally headed for home!

Healing up rather nice

When we were in Colorado Tucker fell at the bowling alley..and it was BAD...really deep and he even chipped off a good chunk of one of his molars. Nurse Grampa took care of Tucker's cut and it healed really well. Good thing my dad is a nurse because Tucker would only let Grampa look and touch it. Thanks dad for taking such good care of Tucker!

Summer Time!

Now that the boys are getting bigger, those little kiddie pools are just too small for the two of them and getting any bigger blow up pools will have us going broke paying for the water filling it up and dumping it out. So we decided to give one of these easy set pools a try. We got it for a good price and it comes with a filter so *hopefully* the water will stay clean all summer long.

Trey turns 4!!!

That is right Trey is 4 years old and it just so happened we were in Colorado on his birthday. It was so much fun throwing him a little party with family for the first time (this was actually the first time any of the boys have celebrated a birthday in CO..minus Tucker actual birth). My mom put the whole thing together and she did an amazing job. Trey LOVED his Batman themed party! Thanks to those who came and made it extra special for him (and us too)!!

Denver Zoo

While in CO, we drove up to Denver, where my brother lives. Since it was so nice out we decided to take the kids to the zoo. And man was it a nice zoo, it was really big and nicely laid out. Everyone had a great time!

A little out of order

Since I am behind, like always, things on here are a little out of order...I started writting Ty's 7 month update blog a while back, but didn't get the pictures on here yet, so I didn't post it until today, but it is dated back to mid june sometime..so scroll down and look for that update... I'm going to keep on posting things, which I'm sure will be out of order..but oh well...at least I'm getting things on here finally!
