An almost hairy disaster....

So I never thought I would have to have this conversation with my boys...if we had a girl I would expect it..I unfortunately did the same thing when I was about the boys age. The damage I did was far worse than what Tuck did....anyways here's the story....

Tomorrow is trash day and I was doing cat liter and collecting all the trash...the boys were in the bathroom combing their hair with all the different types of combs and brushes...I finish with the trash and come back in the bathroom to wash my hands and Trey is standing there with a comb in one hand in on hand and the hair scissors in the other. He was holding the comb and scissors the way the people who cut his hair always do and the look on his face was determination....trying to figure out how to best cut his hair....and I am thinking OH NO.....so I take the scissors away and start feeling around his hair seeing if he actually did cut his hair..so I ask him "Trey did you cut your hair" and Tucker replies "nope mom...he didn't cut his hair, I cut my hair" so I was "WHAT?? Why did you cut your hair?" Well, he ends up telling me that his hair was long and it needed to be cut....so I go through the big "cutting your hair is not safe and only daddy or the people at the hair salon can cut your hair..you know that sort of thing..." and we walk out of the bathroom and he said "so mom do you like it? It looks good right?"...those were his exact words....I just shook my head and laughed....

It could have been worse..way way worse...when I cut my hair, I cut a huge chunk out of the side of my long hair...I was trying to cut my bangs and missed the bangs and took out a bunch of hair on the side above my ear.....it was bad, but in the end I ended up with a pretty cute hair cut and you couldn't even tell I had cut it myself before hand. Luckily I came in before Trey cut his own hair because if he had cut it, I would have had to take him to the hair cutting place and basically get it buzzed off..which I mean is really fine, but I finally talked Vinny into leaving Trey's hair longer because in my personal opinion, his hair just looks so much better long...Tucker really only took a small piece and if we mess up the front of it you can't tell there is a piece missing....all I can do is shake my head and not really laugh...but think oh man.....my boys are crazy..... :D

Here is the hair cut I had to get after I cut my own hair...I thought I had the picture of me right after I cut my hair, but I couldn't find it....but anyways..at least they could fix the mess I made :D

Much needed yardwork

The weather yesterday was BEAUTIFUL!! It was so nice and we really didn't have anything to do, so I decided the front yard needed some sprucing up. The boys and I went to Walmart and bought some flowers to plant in the front yard. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. We also pulled some weeds and cleaned up the front a little. We are spending as much time ejoying being outside before it gets so hot. The boys were great helpers and we had fun!

A day at the zoo

The other day we went to the zoo with our playgroup friends and had a really good time! Trey is going through a "no picture" phase, so that is why there are more pictures of Tucker. Oh and when I dressed the boys that morning I didn't realize their shirts looked that much a like..oops!

One foggy morning

These pictures are from the other morning. It was so foggy. I just love it...it just looks so cool. It was rarely foggy in Colorado, but here it is foggy a lot more, but not usually this foggy....I could bearly see down the street. The boys were pretty impressed by the fog too!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Feeding the ducks

Last week we were supposed to have a playdate at my very favorite park, but everyone bailed on me at the last minute....by the way guys..thanks for that....haha ;P But I decided to take the boys anyways and we had a great time. It was so fun feeding the ducks and having a picnic lunch...it was kind of windy, but it was still fun! After lunch and feeding the ducks, we went and played at the park...it was a fun day!

What a change...

...a change in the weather that is....you saw the pictures of the boys playing in the sprinkler the other day...well today is cold...not just cool, but down right cold...well for here anyways....80something 2 days ago and today we just got home and it was only 45 in the afternoon....cold...cold..cold!!!

You might think I am complaining, but I'm not, I LOVE the cold weather and I am actually pretty accustomed to crazy, unpredictable weather growing up in Colorado. It was nice, I even got to wear a sweater....tomorrow is supposed to be colder, so I'm pretty excited...it's nice to get some cold weather before the never-ending summer starts.

Jake and Jenn's Visit!

As I mentioned earlier, Jake, Jenn, Kaedance, and Braeden came for a quick visit a few day ago. It was such a blast! We really had such a good time together...the only bad part is that they called Vinny in to work a few days before they got here and he is still out working......so that sucked, but we still had fun. Braeden is absolutly adorable and I just love him!!! He is still so little and it was just so fun having such a little baby around the house. Kaedance is still as cute as ever and is quite the little chatter box. I have a feeling Trey and Kaedance are going to be really great friends, but they are going to fight like brother and sister...they are only 10 months apart, so I know that will keep them close! Tucker thinks he is such a big boy and that Kaedance is still such a baby(which is not the case anymore)...He never really wants anything to do with kids that are younger than him for some reason, except for Trey, but he doesn't really count. I think once Kaedance is a little older, he won't care as much..hopefully! But anyways it was so great being with family! And hopefully we will be able to see them again soon!

This is back from a few weeks ago..Trey and I were waiting to pick up Tucker to school and we were doing sidewalk chalk and Trey drew a fish and it actually resembles a fish....Trey really likes the arts and crafts stuff and I have to say he is quite good :D

Warm...way too warm...Weather

For the past week or two it has been way to hot and humid already...it was not fun...the summer here lasts way too long....but at least we are getting a break here from all of that finall. But yesterday was hot and I needed to water the lawn...so I let the boys play in the sprinkler for the first time since last summer(which was actually like in October)....

Spring has Sprung!

We didn't really have much of a winter..like usual, but we did get snow once in December, but it's official...Spring is here...I have to say I really love Spring. The weather is perfect, not to hot yet and no yucky humidity....and best of all things start blooming again...now it's not as good as it is in Colorado...because here things stay green here all year long..some of the trees don't even loose all their leaves, but it still is pretty...the thing I miss most though about spring time in Colorado is Robins...they always make me think of my gramma and I always love seeing the first robin of spring...I don't think we have those birds here...well at least not in our neighborhood.

I hope you like the pictures....the boys like picking me flowers...so they picked me some weed flowers and then Trey picked 3 of my daffodils off the plant...which I was not too happy about, but more are blooming...then I was just excited about our little tree getting some new leaves!

Playing catch-up again....

Man I hate playing catch-up on here, but here I find myself having to do it again....which sucks, but oh well it was for a good reason. My brother Jake and his wife Jenn and their 2 kids, Kaedance and Braeden came down for a quick visit! It was so much fun...but more about that in another blog...

the weather has been warm..way too warm for early March...speaking of which..I can't believe is almost half way over with already...where does the time go??? It's been in the 80s already...but thankfully it is cooling down for the next couple of days...I am so NOT ready for the never ending heat of summer...

well...just wanted to say I have much to blog about and will start catching everyone up tomorrow :D

Old Memories

I was going through some old picture cd's and I happened to find these videos of Tucker when he was about 4 and a half months old, of him eating solids for the first time and then just him jabbering. Oh my they sure did bring back some memories. Make sure you have the sound on.

March Already

I can not believe it is already March...where has 2009 gone already!?!

But the really exciting thing is that we are 3 months into this year and I have NOT changed one diaper...NOT A SINGLE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trey decided in November of last year that he no longer wanted to wear a diaper or a pullup..so we would fight him to get him to wear one and eventually we got tired of the fight and just let him try going without and he really has done amazing....he has only had a handful of pee accidents since then and he's never had a poop accident. He does however still wear a pullup at night....but that is fine with me...I can handle 1 a day and he always takes it off and throws it away himself.

I am so proud!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 consecutive years of changings diapers was enough for me!! And man are we lucky that both boys really just picked up potty training on their own..They both started using the potty before they were even 2 years old. I do have a few tips and tricks, but for the most part they just decided it was their time to wear big boy underwear.
