This summer has been hotter than average, so we haven't been outside as much as we usually are,but we still found some fun ways to enjoy the back!

Trouble with a capital T-Y

Ty is (and has been since about May) in full swing of the terrible 2s!  The age he is at, about 2 and a half-ish to about just over 3 is my LEAST favorite...  And Ty by far is the most stubborn of all my boys.  He can be down right irrational at times.  Don't get me wrong, I love this boy, but this is a very trying time for us right now.  Part of the problem is that he already thinks he is just as big as his brothers and should be able to do what they do...and he is so very smart...his brain is always working overtime and he can usually figure out a solution to his problem.

I told him he may not have any candy, but he knew there was candy up there so he waited until I was busy feeding he cousin and then made his move.  1st he tried to move the chair, but it got stuck, so he went to the closet, got the step stool, climbed up there and got his candy.

Right now it is a constant battle, but I am hoping as he is getting older we will be growing out of this totally irrational stage.

Trey is 6!!

I realise I never wished Trey a happy birthday on here...man I feel like a crappy mom...oh well....better late than never and at least he had a great day anyway. On his actual birthday we told him he could pick whatever he wanted to eat...and where did he pick...Golden Corral! He was thrilled and we all ate way too much, but to top off the regular goodness of Golden Corral they had Cotton Candy!! He was in HEAVEN!!!  After eating we headed back home and he opened a few presents.  It was a good way to spend his actual birthday.

The following weekend we celebrated his 6th birthday with a little party at the house with the family.

Crazy hair for the last time

 

I finally caved and cut my baby's crazy hair back in May..this was the first time they used the clippers on him and he still did great. I decided it was time for a short cut because he hates having his hair washed anyways and with summer coming it would definitely cooler for him...I don't think I will ever let his hair get this long again...it's time for my baby to be the big boy he actually is.

How is summer almost over??

We have had a very fun and eventful summer and I cannot wrap my head around how school will be starting in less than 2 weeks!!!

Since I have been so busy and have neglected my blog, I want to take a few minutes to share my thoughts on the big boys and their school year.  These are some things I want to always remember, but I don't know if I will remember them for years to come.

I'll start with Tucker...I'm so proud of him for doing such a great job in school...academically and socially!  He really pushes himself to do the best job he can at his school work.  He cracked me up one day after school ended because his 'best' friend only got white cards for Renaissance and Tucker's exact words were "I don't know why he only gets white cards because he has such nice handwriting"  Well, see Tucker's way of thinking...he always gets 100s or 100+ on his spelling tests and on other assignments he never has gotten anything under an A grade...the only thing his teacher had to get on him about was writing neater...so he just didn't understand why his friend didn't get gold cards too when his friend's handwriting was way neater than his own....I had to explain to him that his friend might have not always gotten A's or 100's...  As I said, Tucker pushes himself so hard to get 100s...one example is that he would come home from school on Monday with his brand new spelling words and he would be so upset with himself for not knowing how to spell all the words already that first day.  I hope he has this drive forever because I would much rather have to help him understand it is okay to not be perfect all the time than having to fight him to do the best he can.   He made lots of friends and all the teachers loved him.  He says he doesn't want to go back to school, but I know secretly he does..he really loves school...2nd grade here Tucker comes!!!!

Trey....what can I say about this boy...he has grown so unbelievably much over this year.  This is the one thing I learned with Tucker also at this age....the amount they change is CRAZY... As I explained in the dinosaur program post...it wasn't the greatest year for him, but we finished the year on a very positive note.  He kept doing great and he has surprised us all by even joining the summer coach pitch baseball team and he has just started flag football!  His kindergarten teacher was amazing..she really knew how to deal with his distinct personality and I don't think I could ever let her know how grateful I am for her.  Trey is looking forward to 1st grade, especially since he will have the same teacher Tucker (and I had) for 1st grade.  I have very high hopes he will have a great year..I think Trey is looking forward to proving to Tucker he can do just as good as Tucker did in school...if not better.  Those boys are so competitive!  I'm just so proud of him for really growing up and becoming such a big boy!  Trey didn't really have a 'best' friend in class like Tucker did, but he have good things to say about all his classmates...thankfully for my mom being in the same school I found out Trey did have a 'special' friend in class...this cute little girl...which is why he probably never would have admitted it to me or anyone else for that matter...I think we have a little ladies man on our hands because in preschool his teacher always told us he was a big hit with all the girls!

Last Renaissance Assembly of the year

The last day of school Tucker has his last renaissance assembly for the year. I was so proud of him because he got another Gold Card! He also got a cool shirt because he always received one of the higher cards every quarter!  It was a cool water themed assembly, but Tucker didn't get to play one of the games because he played one last time!

Mother's Day 2012

This is the first mother's day I have spent with my mom in like 5 years, so even though the weather didn't quite cooperate with us, it was still a great day.  Our day started out with Grampa/Dad making us a pancake and bacon breakfast and our plan for the rest of the day was to go to church like usual and head up to one of our favorite places in the Springs for a picnic by the river and hiking around that area.  Well, it was cold, barely in the 50s and drizzly...so no picnic...instead we ate a Qdoba..which was tasty , but not busy at all.  We decided that since it wasn't full out raining yet we would still venture up to our place and do some exploring and hiking.

But eventually we got him to come out and throw some rocks down the side of the mountain and pose for a couple of pictures.

There is my oldest boy....he sure is looking so grown up here lately...I think it is those dang adult teeth...He is still handsome as ever though.

This one of Trey is pretty dark, but we were in a dense part of the woods on our trail to the top of the waterfall and with the clouds it was dark in there!

Here they are all at the top of the waterfall...please excuse the shadowy thing over Grampa's face...it was a raindrop on my lens.  If there weren't any clouds you can see the city below us in the distance.

Me and my mom!   It was really raining by then and we were pretty wet, but it was a fun way to spend the Mother's day!  And thanks to Trey who took this awesome picture for us!

My Trey really is growing up!

Oh Trey my loving yet very stubborn Trey....I seriously can't express how proud I am of him right now. A couple of weeks back Trey had his end of the year Dinosaur Program at school (The same exact program I put on in Kindergarten when I went to school there...I know...totally awesome!!!!) Anyways, for those of you who don't know Trey too well, he is stubborn...I don't even think stubborn begins to cover it, but I will just go with that for now.....and he (just like all of my boys) is very shy, I think he might be the shyest one of all. He does NOT do well in front of a crowd. In all his preschool years and the many performances, he would NEVER participate in them...we barely got him on stage to receive his Preschool Diploma..and that was all in thanks to his amazing preschool teacher! But let me tell you about this Dinosaur Program!!!!

That's right...there he is sitting up there with his class...smiling and waving at me none he less!!! (During the school year anytime I would go to school to visit Tucker or watch one of Tucker's award assemblies I would have to avoid Trey at all costs because if he would see me it would cause a major melt down...)And then to make it even better there he is singing along and even doing the motions!!!!  The song they were singing is one about a triceratops.

 And when I thought it couldn't be any better, his music teacher picked him to do the drumming for the t-rex song!!  I was fighting back tears the entire time(as I am right now as I'm writing this).  I am so very VERY proud of him.  He really is growing up! 

 

My biker baby!

With the nice Spring weather we have been having the big boys have been riding their bikes a lot lately and Ty keeps trying to ride their bikes, which he is never successful at, so I searched for a new bike for my littlest guy.  He was so excited about it, but had a hard time peddling it.  He looks so grown up on that bike!

Have I mentioned how much I dislike this new blogger layout...I am having trouble with things, so it is making posting blogs much more of a hassle...most of the time (because of my lack of free time) I do posts in sections...like uploading pictures then saving it as a draft, then coming back at a later time (usually a later date) and finish things up, but this is not working for me right now...or I realized I need to edit a published post and for the life of me I can not figure it out...This is making blogging a lot less fun and a lot more work....so please bear with me and I will try to post some new stuff soon.
