We, of course, carved pumpkins...It was a lot of fun. Tucker did a great job and scooped out those guts without a problem. Trey would only use a spoon. And Ty, he was cute. He loved looking into the pumpkins and he would take out the guts and squeeze them. Then once all the pumpkins were cleaned out and we were deciding what to carve on them, Ty started putting the seeds back into the pumpkins...he cracks me up.
There are 2 huge trees in my parents front yard and my dad being the grampa he is raked up all the leaves for the boys to play in...the had an absolute blast!!! (oh and that huge pile is only about half the leaves, the trees were still pretty leafy at this point!)
Every Halloween I try to convince my big boys to let me create a costume for them, but they think it is cooler to pick one out from the store...so I for the past 3 years I have let them pick (they were Transformers one year, then last year (even though they were store bought it was really cute) they were Batman, Joker, and Robin. And this year they picked to be Ninjas. For some reason I have always saved the boys Halloween costumes, so Ty had a few to pick from. Although...that didn't really go as planned. I wanted to Dress him as Robin again, but I can not find it...so then I decided to go as the fisherman, but I couldn't find the boots..so he ended up as a Wisconsin Football Player for the Halloween Carnival at the big boys school. We also went to Boo at the Zoo, a Halloween party, this Golf place, and finally trick-or-treating. We had so much fun. When we went Trick-or-Treating, Tucker wasn't feeling the best, so didn't go to too many houses, but Trey was the first one up there ringing the door bell and saying trick-or-treat. Ty, once he realized they were giving him candy at the doors walked his short little legs up to each one of those houses holding out his bag. He never said anything, but he sure was cute. Towards the end of our night, his bag was getting pretty heavy, but he would not let that bag go..that was his candy!
We had a very fun and busy Halloween season and I'm looking forward to a little break before all of the rest of the holiday madness begins.
I've seen a few other people doing this and I really like this idea...since ends with November and it is one of my favorite holidays, I want the whole month to have the warm thankful feeling. you are supposed to post each day something you are thankful for, but I know I'm not the best at posting stuff lately, so I might have multiple thanks on one day, but I will end up with the right amount.
Day 1: I am thankful for my family...they are beyond loving and supportive and I would be lost without them.
Day 2: I am thankful for my "family" I put that in quotes because these are people who I definitely consider part of my family, but they aren't actually related, but I love them just as much as my related family.
Day 3: I am thankful for my friends and even though I suck at keeping in touch, I think about you guys all the time and you really do mean so much to me.
Day 4: And I am most thankful for God who has giving me all these blessings and much much more.
Trey didn't last to long at the table for 2 reason 1. because of the bees and 2. it was kind of chilly and I forgot their jeans

I love fall, especially a Colorado Fall. There is just something about it that is amazing, the sights and the smells (and yes fall really does have a smell!) The leaves started changing down here.
Up in the mountains the change was in full swing, so one Sunday we took a drive up there to show the boys what Fall is supposed to look like (because in Texas we didn't really have a Fall, the leaves would just slowly turn brown and then by like January the trees would be bare.)
It was beautiful and we had a great time. 
That's right the training wheels have been taken off of Trey's bike! He is a pro at it already and is so proud of himself too. (This happened back in September.)
It's no secret that my boys love fishing. And lucky for us Colorado has a lot of places for us to fish. We went fishing a bunch this summer, but sadly we didn't have much luck...we barely caught anything, but finally towards the end of summer we went fishing and finally caught a ton of fish!! Fishing is always more fun when we catch something! We went with my nephew Devin and his family and my parents. Grampa was a good grampa and cleaned the fish and we ate it for dinner!!
I didn't do Trey's 1st day of school post with Tucker's because at their school, Kindergarten starts 2 days later than the rest of school because kindergartners come in for a simple testing during those first 2 days. And I didn't want to bring down Tucker's happy post with the bad memories of Trey's first day! I honestly don't want to remember any of Trey going to school until 3 school days ago...I'll let the picture do a little bit of the explaining...
...Trey hiding by the front door..he did NOT want to go. I had to pull him out of bed, forcefully get him dressed, carry him to the bus, actually place him in his seat on the bus, pry myself away from him, and Tucker had to hold him in the seat to get him to stay. It was a nightmare...that didn't end until a few weeks ago. Well, I take that back, it wasn't quite as bad as that first day, but I was still putting him onto the bus up until 3 days ago. I was trying everything to get him to go to school without a fight, but nothing was working. He kept asking me for his DS back (which I had taken away on day 4 because he wasn't acting like a big boy, he doesn't get big boy things) so I told him, 'you get dressed and get on the bus without a fight, you get it back' and he did everything he should and he got it back, but that stinker tells me "I'm only going to do it twice" and of course I told him then it gets taken away again... ugh that boy! But then when he came home from school he told me that he was going to keep getting on the bus because his bus driver clapped for him and he liked that.
Although he was giving me so much trouble getting on the bus, he was doing pretty good at school. He was having a little trouble with some of the transitions and crying about some of the things, but with the help of his awesome teacher he worked that out pretty fast. Now he is doing great. He has also been recognized in the 100s Club and has even received Purple Power on a few of his take home charts (each day in his folder the day on the calender is colored based on his behavior Green is good, then yellow needs work, red...in Trey's words..is TROUBLE... and Purple means exceptional. I'm really proud of him! The rest of kindergarten should be pretty great...as long as we don't have a relapse after Christmas Break...ugh I just shuddered thinking about that...
