Always behind...

I am sucking at this blogging thing right now...well actually I am a bit behind on almost everything right now....having three kids ages 5 and under is TOUGH..to say the least...now don't get me wrong..I love it and definitely wouldn't change it..but it is a LOT of work.

But I am apologizing for being a bad blogger and I have a feeling it might just get worse. I just have so much to get done, blogging is somewhat low on the list...Right now I am trying to get things organized for our VACATION!!!!! We are going to Colorado for a little over a week and are going camping for part of that time! I am so thrilled and I can't wait...but it is a ton of work to get a family of 5 ready for a vacation that includes a 15+ hour road trip (one way) and a 4 day camping trip! But it will be worth it!

Oh and Tucker will be graduating from preschool here in a few weeks too!!!

So, please forgive me and I will try and post when I get the time!

Flying kites with Vinny's parents

Last weekend we decided to head over to Vinny's parents house to spend a little time with them. They have a nice big open yard and Vinny's dad bought the boys kites! Tucker really loved it and Trey did at first, but then accidentally let go of the string and had to chase after it before it flew away..after that he was done...

Vinny's mom, all 3 of the boys, and I went on a walk down their street. The wildflowers were blooming and it was so pretty..I used my mother's day present (more about that later) to snap a few pictures of the boys.

My Big Boy!

Last Thursday I registered Tucker for kindergarten!!!! He also got to take a little tour of the school. It was so cute because when we got to the library he said, "wow, that's a lot of books!" Then when we walk into the gym, he just wandered around a bit and was just looking at everything in awww..you could just tell that he was in Heaven!! Next was the music room and he said that it looked pretty cool. And last we went into the Art room, and he was actually impressed, he said, "look at all this art stuff." That surprised me because he usually isn't one for arts and crafts...he's a more physical guy!

It was a lot of fun and now he really can't wait for kindergarten and riding the bus! The picture below is of him wearing Wildcat ears...the school's mascot is the Wildcat...just like my elementary school's mascot!

1/2 a year old!!!!!!!!!

What the heck...Ty is 1/2 a year old already!!!!!!!!! I can't believe, he is growing so fast!!! We finally got Ty a real high chair to sit in and he seems to like it a lot! He is eating a lot of solids lately..For "breakfast" (I put that in quotes because the meal is not at the usual breakfast time, but sometime during the day before dinner) he eats about a size 1 jar of a fruit (so far he's had apples and bananas) mixed with rice cereal. Then he usually eats about a size one jar of vegetables and at times a little bit more for dinner. So far he has had, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash,peas. and green beans. His favorites are sweet potatoes and squash. Carrots, peas, and the fruits are just okay. When he tried green beans, he ate the first four bites and seemed like he was okay with them (I was surprised because they made his older brothers gag every time they ate them) but on the 5th bite he actually "tasted" what he was eating and gagged..so I tried another bite and he gagged again..so I mixed them with sweet potatoes..and the ate both jars mixed together. We have also given him the little Gerber puffs, in sweet potato flavor and he loves those. He is so cute when he eats them because he smacks his little lips as he is chewing! We also tried the sippy cup with water and he sucked on it, but didn't really care about what was coming out of it..he mostly wanted to play with it.

At his check-up the doctor had nothing but good things to say about him. He was really cute smiling at her the entire time and was really into everything that was going on in the room. Ty was cracking her up because everything she would do, he would give her a huge smile or some sort of look. He weighs 18 pounds 6 ounces and is 27 and 1/4 inches tall. Still right around the 75th percentile.

He is still rolling over from back to front...as soon as I lay him down he almost automatically rolls over then yells because he hates being on his stomach..and hates even more rolling from his stomach to his back, even though he can actually do it. He is almost sitting up on his own without support and we have been taking him out of his infant car seat and letting him sit in the cart or highchair..thanks to cute seat cover his Aunt Ashlie got for him. Ty is quite the little chatter box lately..he love squeal and blow his little lips together. He is still sleeping in his own room in the crib from about 8ish at night to about 7:30ish in the moning.

Vinny's new toy!

For Vinny's birthday he got a fishing kayak! He thrilled about having one and found the perfect spot to take it out. He takes it out down on the coast, but goes in the "flats" the water is only about waist deep and pretty calm. Tucker really wants to go out with him, but Vinny needs to get the hang of everything first

Cousin Time!

Last weekend we drove up to Ft. Worth to visit with Vinny's brother and his family. We haven't seen them in awhile and it was so nice to get together. The kids have grown so much and they all had fun playing together!

Church Picnic

We have started regularly attending the church where the boys go preschool and last Saturday we went to a picnic they hosted. It was a lot of fun and reminded me of back in the day when we used to do all that stuff at my old church in Colorado. It was a bbq/potluck and the food was amazing. After everyone ate they had games to play. Tucker and Trey got to do their first egg toss and (with a little help from Vinny) did a good job..you know for being 3 and 5 years old).

Ty is 5 months old

Well, actually Ty is 5 and a 1/2 months old already...I have been a bad blogger lately and behind on everything...but I'm getting caught up on things. This month has been filled with the most changes by far! (I will go in the order he started doing things to try and keep it better organized)

He found his feet...he is now able to grab on to those tootsies and not just stare at them anymore. It is so cute and he is always grabbing on to his feet!














He is becoming rather good at stabilizing himself and sitting up with only a little bit of support. It is so cute!



















We were never able to really tell what color Ty's eyes were, they were that undefinable baby color, but now they are definitely brown!














Ty has started rolling over!! He lays on his back and rolls himself onto his side and then will lay there for a little bit and then roll all the way onto his tummy. He really hates being on his tummy, so he has actually flipped himself back onto his back a couple of times. And while on his back he can squirm himself around in a circle.














Last night was the first night Ty slept in his crib in his own room! He has been sleeping through the night for quite awhile now, but was still in the bassinet in our room, but his is getting so big when he would move he was hitting the sides of the bassinet, so it was time to move him! He is the youngest baby we moved out of our room..I'm a little sad about it, but so far so good!

Well, that is all the pictures I have right now, but onto other new without pictures...
Ty LOVES solids now. He is eating them every night now...I mix rice cereal in a size 1 plastic baby food container and mix it with with sweet potatoes (half rice and half potatoes) and heat it for a few seconds...and he LOVES it..he will eat the entire container..he would probably eat more if I would let him, but I think for now that is plenty! Tonight I tried the rice cereal with carrots and he seemed to like it just as much as the sweet potatoes! He must be going to a growth spurt or something because he is always acting like he is starving! I have been feeding him 3 ounces of formula before I nurse him to put him down to bed and he sucks that down in just a few minutes..that too he seems to want more, but I just want to give him a little something extra because woke up the past few nights wanting to eat something. And I cleaned out his closet and he is pretty much wearing all 6-12 month and 9 month clothing...he is such a big guy!

Spring time in Texas

Spring time in Texas means a lot of things...POLLEN...like I said before, but also the humidity and the heat starts creeping back..thankfully we have had a pretty pleasant spring so far...being cooler and less humid than usual. But these last couple of days have been pretty warm. Yesterday the boys were playing outside and were complaining it was too hot, so I put the sprinkler on the trampoline and they had a BLAST!! Then today the "Burb" was yet again covered in yellow pollen so we decided to wash it..so this time I got to take the pictures :D

Easter Morning

We are big on traditions...so most holidays are always the same from year to year..it might sound boring, but I love it and it brings back so many amazing memories! So the Easter tradition my parent taught me and I now do with my own kids is..get up, find Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny hid for them while they were sleeping while still in PJ's, the kids get to play with the things in their baskets, while we (Vinny and I) get breakfast ready...which is a fruit variety and hard boiled eggs (sometimes we make cinnamon rolls and sausage or bacon...but we didn't have time this particular morning). Then we got ready and went to Church!
