1st Renaissance Assembly of 2012-2013 School Year!

I am so proud of my big boys!!!  They both received cards for their good grades and behavior at school!  This was Trey's first time being eligible for a card and he got a Green one, which is the second highest card you can get!  He was pretty excited about it!  Tucker received another Gold Card, which is the highest you can get!  He was so excited because this year has been a little more challenging for him because he is in the highest reading class where a lot is expected of him, but he is working so hard at it and it paid off!!!  It was special because Grampa, Gramma, and Uncle Jake were all able to come to the assembly with Ty and I!  For their hard work we treated them out to dinner at On the Border!  I am so very proud of them and their hard work!

Did I mention??

...that we (or more specifically my brother) got a dog!  Since he is staying here too it is the family dog.  We rescued her from the humane society and she is seriously an amazing dog.  She is calm, sweet, good with the kids, only barks when necessary, and walks great on the leash.  We renamed her Kali, because she was a stray and didn't respond to the name they gave her (which was Brownie).  She is about a year and a half and even my mom and dad who weren't too excited about getting a dog really like her.

Skate City!!!

The boys finally got to experience Skate City for one of their cousin's birthdays!  They actually did pretty good.  Ty actually gave it a try, but after a little he wanted to take his 'scooters' off.  I had a lot of fun skating and it really hasn't changed at all since I was going there in elementary school!

Labor Day Camping and Bent's Fort

For Labor Day weekend we tried out a new campground.  It was out east and on a resivour.  It was so dang hot and the resivour wasn't the greatest, but we always have fun when we go out.  I don't really have any pictures from it.  On the way home from camping we stopped at Bent's Fort.  Despite being hot it was a blast to explore.

Football Firsts

The boys just finished up their first season of flag football.  Of course, now that Trey has finally decided to play sports they changed the age divisions and they play in different leagues.  Anyways, they both did great and had a blast!

1st Day of School

What a difference a year makes!!!  Do you remember last year when I had to drag Trey onto the bus for majority of the year??? Yep, despite me trying to block that whole debockle from my mind...I still remember.  This year a complete 180...He was excited and eager for school to start!  Tucker was funny, he kept saying I don't want to go to school, but that morning he was running to the bus stop!  So far this year has been pretty good for both of them.  They love their teachers and are making even more friends!

SE Wyoming

The drive back from Yellowstone seemed like it took FOREVER!  So to break up the drive we stopped in southeast Wyoming to see some of the sights.  First we stopped at Ft. Laramie.  It was pretty cool.  I love old historic sites.  This place was cool because some of it was completely restored, some was being restored, and some was completely gone, but they showed where it used to be. Plus they had people dressed up like they did way back when.  The kids had a blast looking at everything and so did the adults.

After that we drove to the Oregon Trail ruts and walked around there.  It was a pretty cool site.  Those pioneers were pretty amazing to have faced all they did and make it to their destination.

 

The last stop was Register Cliff.  This is where people would stop to carve their name and date on the rock wall to let their family know they made it that far.  We saw some pretty old names on there.  Again it was awesome to see history first hand.

Grand Tetons

On the way home from Yellowstone we drove through the Grand Tetons.  Man they were beautiful!!  I had to share.

Yellowstone - Scenery Edition

It was unbelievably beautiful at Yellowstone.  I think it is one of the most unique and amazing places on Earth.
